GOODBYE OLD FRIEND!I regret to announce the death of Satellite Radio as we know it with the recent passing of XM. What you now see carrying the name of Sirius XM is simply a commodity with as much soul and spirit as your local cable company. Yes, they still sell a wide variety of music, news, sports, and talk that you can’t get anywhere else in one package just like your cable company. However, what you now hear is just what they’re selling to a consumer. It is no longer something you can call art, crafted from love with an actual vision to serve music and radio fans of all types. You may find some goodness here and there just like a gem of a show on cable, but such gems will likely exist despite your Satellite Radio company instead of existing as an intentional act of that company. Satellite Radio has grown up and gone to work in the factory. That factory focuses more on a smaller number of safe hits repeated endlessly and DJs that add very little more than annoying FM-like blathering over the music. The factory produces radio geared towards short periods of background noise instead of a primary method of engaging entertainment. Well, enjoy your adulthood! I think I’ll go play somewhere else and try to keep hold of my childhood… Just as there aren't fan sites devoted to Cox and Time Warner cable and sites where people might care to vote for what the best channels are on those services, there is no longer a need for SatRadVote.com... if there ever was one to begin with. ;-) |

Alas poor XMLM...I knew it well
My growing disappointment with the SIRIUS changes to my favorite metal music station has lead me to high blood pressure, binge drinking, and spending hard earned cash for cd's to play in my car. Katie Brutal was a dream come true, Cool Guy was an insane hardcore whatever that was there when I needed a way to vent, and Ward was a dick (though kinda cool in his own way). They all shall be missed greatly and I lament in their passing. My receiver has been donated to someone who can now benifit from it more than I.
REST IN PEACE XMLM
OH YEAH........
FUCK SIRIUS!!!!!!!!!

Re: XM is dead
This sucks. sirius is crap. There was a reason I still paid for XM when I got sirius included in my Dish Network service, it was great!!! I mainly listened to Liquid Metal (42). What a great channel. No trivium, no bullet for my homo, no dope (WTF????). Mercury was a daily listen with Katie Brutal, now I have to wait until midnight to hear some death or grind? Oh, that must be after the kids are in bed so it's safe. Ultraviolence was a great show also. Needless to say, I canceled my account today. Piss off sirius!!!!!!!!
mx'S dead'S
